Catifa 80 is a light, low lounge chair with a pronounced horizontal character. Its reduced profile and wide seat are generous without being heavy or bulky. On its own it is a quiet, comfortable resting place or, grouped, a serene space for waiting or gathering.
Catifa 70 distills the essence of a lounge chair into a slender, etherial form. Its distinctive, delicate curve creates an intimate space for home or office. Catifa 70 Soft adds comfort and casual elegance to the equation with padded cushions that line the seat and back.
Featuring the same soft, emblematic Catifa form, Catifa 60 adds more generous proportions and performance. With backrest available in several heights and broad, accommodating seat it is equally distinguished in an office, a boardroom or a stylish home.
De Arper Catifa 53 is het origineel! Bij de introductie is 2001 was het allereerste stoel in zijn soort. Ondanks vele navolgers en kopieën is de Catifa 53 uitgegroeid tot een heuse designklassieker. En, misschien nog wel belangrijker: de stoel zette de maat voor de verdere ontwikkeling van Arper als invloedrijke speler op in de wereld van design.
Lievore Altherr Molina
Het Catalaanse ontwerperstrio Lievore Altherr Molina is verantwoordelijk voor het ontwerp van de Catifa 53. Het uitgangspunt was een relatief eenvoudig te produceren stoel met een groot zitcomfort, een helder, modern uiterlijk en een bovengemiddeld goede prijs-kwaliteitsverhouding. Dat die missie is geslaagd kunnen we nu, vele jaren later, wel zeggen: van de Catifa zijn in de verschillende uitvoeringen ondertussen al meer dan 1.000.000 exemplaren uitgeleverd. Naar gebruikers overal ter wereld.
Veel mogelijkheden
Ondanks de helder geformuleerde uitgangspunten en de zo herkenbare vorm van de oer-Catifa, is de bijna ontelbare veelheid aan uitvoeringen van de stoel misschien nog wel het meest kenmerkend. De kuip kan in het inmiddels iconische tweekleurige kunststof worden geleverd, maar ook uitvoeringen in een enkele kleur kunststof of hout zijn beschikbaar. Als de keuze op bekleding valt, kan worden gekozen voor een volledige stoffering of een opdekstoffering van alleen de binnenzijde van de kuip. De mogelijkheden van stoffen en leersoorten zijn nagenoeg onbeperkt. Vanaf 2016 worden nieuwe, matte kleuren voor de Catifa 53 geïntroduceerd.
Keuze uit 13 onderstellen
Voor de Catifa 56 zijn in totaal maar liefst dertien verschillende onderstellen beschikbaar. Meest basic is het vierpoots model, waarbij uit een versie met stalen of houten poten kan worden gekozen. Er zijn twee sledeframes, waarbij bij de zogenaamde technical sled een elegante armleuning wordt geïntegreerd. Dit laatste is ook het geval bij de de cantilever versie. Voor de toepassing als bureaustoel of op een aanlandwerkplek zijn twee variaties van een vierteens, draaiend onderstel verkrijgbaar. Deze kunnen naar wens ook van rolwielen worden voorzien. Diezelfde mogelijkheid biedt ook de vijfteens variant van dit onderstel, waarbij deze laatste uitvoering ook een traploos instelbare hoogteverstelling heeft. Hiermee wordt de Catifa 53 een volwaardige bureaustoel. Voor de Catifa 53 is een traverse uitvoering leverbaar, deze is bij uitstek geschikt in wachtkamers of in een receptie. Als u wat lager wilt zitten is er een sledeframe op loungehoogte.

Loop is a modular system of soft sofa elements that combine in short clusters or long, flowing lines as unique and expressive as a signature. While graphic in form and silhouette, the overall effect is almost architectural. In large spaces the linear form inscribes areas for waiting, resting and meeting. At home, it may be compact or commanding depending on what is required.
Lina Bo Bardi werd in 1914 in Rome geboren. Na haar studie aan La Sapienza, de beroemde acadamie voor architectuur in Rome werkte zij voor veel beroemde namen in het Italië van vlak voor de Tweede Wereldoorlog. In 1946 trouwt zij met P.M. Bardi, de beroemde kunstcriticus, journalist en galeriehouder. Zij verruilen nog datzelfde jaar hun vaderland voor een carrière in Brazilië. Met haar Studio d’Arte Palma realiseert Lina Bo Bardi een groot aantal spraakmakende projecten die tot op de dag van de vandaag de architectuurgeschiedenis in Brazilië en ver daarbuiten hebben beïnvloed.
Wereldberoemd zijn haar SESC Leisure Centre-Pompeia Factory, het Museum of Modern Art in Bahia en het Museum of Popular Art in Unhao. Haar eigen woonhuis Casa de Vidro is nog altijd een mekka voor architectuurliefhebber van over de hele wereld.
In haar ontwerpen heeft technologie nooit de overhand. Veel duidelijker spreekt haar behoefte om de grenzen te vervagen tussen de kunst en het leven, tussen de artiest en het publiek. Lina Bo Bardi overlijdt in 1992.
Vlak voor haar overlijden wordt het Instituto Lina Bo e P.M. Bardi opgericht. Dit instituut stelt zich ten doel om het werk van het echtpaar te beschermen en promoten. Samen met dit Instituto ontwikkelt Arper Bardi Bowl Chair. Deze was al in 1951 door Lina Bo Bardi ontworpen en door Arper opnieuw in productie genomen.
De Bardi’s Bowl chair bestaat uit een gestoffeerde kuip die los op een dunne metalen structuur rust. De kuip kan worden bewogen om op allerlei manieren een aangename zithouding te creëren.
De fauteuil is in een beperkte oplage van 500 stuks geproduceerd. Ieder exemplaar is genummerd en voorzien van een uniek bewijs van authenticiteit. De opbrengsten van de verkoop van de fauteuil komen ten goede aan het Instituto Lino Bo e P.M. Bardi. Meer informatie kunt u hier vinden.
