Clayton

Poltrona Frau Clayton

Jean-Marie Massaud interprets the Clayton sofa as a sophisticated haute couture creation.
Sumptuous yet radically modern, architectural and enveloping just like an haute couture dress.
Luxurious stitching, worthy of the finest tailors, runs right along the outside edge of the Pelle Frau® leather-upholstered backrest and armrests to create a sophisticated 3D effect.

The seat cushions are embellished with delicate x-shaped stitches applied by hand with contrasting thread – a subtle reference to the distinctive hallmark of Jean-Marie Massaud’s furniture for Poltrona Frau. A highly decorative web of hand-braided saddle leather straps supports and secures the seat springs. The architecture of the sofa is clear and light. The seat rises from the floor on steel feet with Ruthenium finish. The version of the Clayton that combines leather with fabric or velvet for the cushion covers guarantees a particularly rich sensory experience.

The backrest and armrest panels, in steel with light polyurethane foam padding, are connected by exposed metal hinges in a Ruthenium finish. Goose down is used for the soft padding of the armrest and backrest cushions. Clayton is available in a version entirely upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather or in combination with the wide range of Poltrona Frau fabrics.

Cestlavie

Poltrona Frau Cestlavie

Gam Fratesi took inspiration from the traditional sewing basket when designing the modern and refined Cestlavie accessories. The material sensations of leather and the lightness of the metal architecture meet in a striking and elegant visual synthesis. The meticulous craftsmanship pays tribute to Poltrona Frau’s time-honoured leather culture and artisanship. Saddle Extra Leather straps, each expertly and individually hand woven, give shape to the cover. Supported by a tubular aluminium structure, the storage unit appears to be suspended on thin, almost graphic, steel supports. The depth of the leather and the sharpness of the metal create interesting movements of light.

Cestlavie is a storage “basket”, but also a small table. The central part of the top, covered in Pelle Frau® leather, can be opened to access the inside while, at the same time, providing a handy support surface. Each detail is precious. The edges of the woven leather bands are also dyed tone-on-tone using techniques typically associated with fine small leather goods. The inside surface of the Saddle leather is also finished with a protective transparent wax treatment. Galvanic treatment for the steel structure with gunmetal or blasted and burnished finish.

Arabesque

Poltrona Frau Arabesque

Kensaku Oshiro has designed a small armchair of pure beauty. Poltrona Frau Arabesque’s sinuous lines display the same natural tension as a dancer’s body. A fluid balance and a supple grace that derive from complex processes.
Thin cushions layered like flower petals make for a supremely comfortable seat, while also providing a structure. This produces a compact and clean aesthetic that is both dynamic and vital. Everything is designed to be welcoming. The deliberately low seat and the angled backrest, together with the pouf, ease you into an informal and relaxed position.

Materials and construction details are calibrated for maximum ergonomic performance. The high version of Arabesque comes complete with a headrest made of rigid polyurethane with moulded polyurethane foam padding. The backrest and seat structure is in moulded rigid polyurethane with a metal insert and polyurethane foam padding. The cushions are made of thermoformed ABS with polyurethane foam padding.
Tubular metal with gunmetal finish or blasted-burnished for the armrests. The elbow rests are lightly padded in polyurethane foam and covered in hand-sewn Pelle Frau® leather.
Arabesque is upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather or in elegant leather and fabric combinations.

Lepli

Lepli

The Lepli collection is series of small furniture: a padded stool, a bench and a footrest. The Japanese designer, Kensaku Oshiro, has designed three pieces with great versatility yet with a strong identity. For this collection, the designer has drawn inspiration from traditional Poltrona Frau production processes and decorations, combining them with tailoring ideas from the fashion world. Classic stitching and soft folds enhance the sinuous minimalism of the design.

The voluptuous curves of the stool , are inspired by the female body shape , as if it were a dress, with slender belt highlighting her “waist”. The leather upholstery comes with the same-colour of the leather whilst he fabric upholstery comes always with leather. The frame is in birch plywood and poplar with uprights in solid beech. The base is in multilayer poplar with bottom in black lacquered non-scratch MDF. Padded with polyurethane foam and polyester wadding. Upholstery available in Pelle Frau® or in Poltrona Frau textiles.

The Leplì collection is now enriched by a new, elegant container pouf. With a pleasantly slender and elongated shape, this element is a handy seat and also perfect for the bedroom. A practical hidden mechanical system facilitates opening with one simple action, letting you access the spacious inner compartment.

I Tappeti – Chado

I Tappeti – Chado

The I Tappeti – Chado line tells of processing techniques that have always belonged to the culture of the rug. Delicate bamboo silk threads and thick linen thread worked following the ancient knotting procedure create rugs of a three-dimensional value. Indeed, in nomadic civilisations, rugs defined living spaces and needed a certain thickness to isolate from the ground, like a sort of textile insulation.

In the Chado rugs, the minuscule knots are then cut one by one following a working called cut. This gives a velvety, constantly changing surface effect where the shininess of the silk offsets the opacity of the linen, which also helps add fullness to the texture. Designcorporate intertwines the textured charm of the knotting with the visual theme evoked by the name “Chado”, tea ceremony in Japanese.

The delicate reticular geometry that runs down the rugs is inspired by the places used for this ritual. Grated windows and wood and paper screens through which a feeble light filters veiling everything in a suspended, evocative atmosphere. The colours of the tea plants and the metals that rust over time inspire meditative colour nuances. The tone-on-tone bamboo silk edging is sewn entirely by hand to finish off the four sides of the rug, embellishing it.

Composition of the usable surface area: 40% linen and 60% bamboo silk.Every rug is knotted by hand on wood frames (155,000 knots/sq. m). The thickness of the rug is 7 mm; weight 3.5 kg/sqm.Dimensions 200x300cm and 250×350 cm. Made-to-measure sizes also available on request. Colours Pearl Grey, Earl Grey, Antique Yellow, Copper, and Soft Blue.Chado rugs are made in India. The hand-stitched leather label has the Poltrona Frau brand stamped on it.

I Tappeti – Pecan

I Tappeti – Pecan

A soft, warm and compact surface. A gentle extension of the bed or seat on which to stretch out, curl up, play, relax, read, or walk barefooted. I Tappeti Pecan rugs have emerged from an in-depth study into tricot workings and are made using an exclusive technique. The wool yarn is wrapped all the way around a jute core, which composes the structure. This way the rug has no distinct front or back, but can be used on both sides with an even softer and more comfortable effect.

Full-bodied and strong, jute bestows robustness and movement. The result is an elegant three-dimensional knit whose feel – although super soft – recalls earth strewn with walnut shells. That’s where the name Pecan comes from. The rug becomes the ideal fabric “frame” for a welcoming and informal living area or for a bedroom with a cosy and relaxing atmosphere. Three are the delicate and elegant shades of colour: pale pink, mole grey, and graphite.Pecan’s surface is finished on the two short sides with two 40-mm edges in Panama weave that alternates the rug’s same thread colour and contrasting thread.

Composition of the usable surface area: 100% wool.Composition structure + usable surface area: 40% jute, 60% woolTotal thickness 12 mm and weight 2.3 kg/sqmDimensions 200x300cm and 300×400 cm. Made-to-measure sizes also available by request with maximum length 10 m, width minimum 70 cm and maximum 300 cmPecan rugs are made in Morocco. I Tappeti – Land

I Tappeti – Land

Contemporary art and age-old handicraft traditions come together in the I Tappeti Land rugs. These solid coloured “canvases” by Ettore Spalletti over which colour seems to fluctuate silently inspire the simple large painted backgrounds that run across the pure wool rugs. The colour of this yarn offers up extraordinarily saturated deep shades of rust red, coal grey, dark blue, and nude. They are the hues of the earth. Indeed, the name Land alludes to the special wool-weaving technique used for these rugs; the resulting textural effect recalls ploughed fields viewed from above.

This ancient hand weaving procedure called Sumak bestows the rug with strength and body. The weavers wrap the woollen weft threads two by two around robust cotton threads that create the structure, forming small braids that mark the rhythm of the surfaces. The edging – also made out of wool – is hand-woven all around the rug with careful finishing work.

Composition of the usable surface area: 100% wool.Composition structure + usable surface area: 20% cotton, 80% woolTotal thickness 10 mm and weight 3.5 kg/sqmDimensions 200x300cm and 250×350 cm. Made-to-measure sizes also available by request with maximum length 7000 cm, width minimum 40 cm and maximum 400 cmThe 200x 300cm and 250×350 cm versions come with two differently coloured strips. The 90×280 cm version distinguishes itself with its alternating wide and narrow horizontal different-colour stripe pattern.Land rugs are made in India. H_O Meeting

H_O Meeting

Elegant and intentionally rising above ideas of fashion, H_O is a collection of refined furniture of exclusive taste which Claudio Silvestrin designed in response to the need for a prestigious and tastefully luxurious Home Office. H_O meeting is the desk in the collection.

The collection consists of a desk with drawers, available in two different sizes; a pc table; a console table with a thick top; a cupboard; and three tables of different sizes, two circular and one oval, to meet the different needs of social encounters and work. The bookcase, which is modular, is based on a combination of three base elements – drawer, column and shelf – that can be used in different configurations. The table top is a sandwich in poplar plywood with an MDF exterior and metal reinforcements. The surfaces of the tables, desks, cabinet, console table and bookcase are in dove grey or coffee-coloured leather. The supporting columns of the desks and tables are in Valcamonica Porphyry, in chestnut-purple, or in White Porphyry, with white-beige tints.

The wood of the shelves and frames come in ash-tinted oak for the light-coloured leather or stone combinations, or in Louro Preto for the darker versions in the collection. The entire collection is upholstered in Tortorà or Caffè-colours hide. In the ‘Square’ versions, the basic upholstery is finished with a 16×16 cm square ‘tone-on-tone’ design. The central part of the Oval Meeting Table top is pre-prepared with the possibility of opening up 4 containers to hold electrical installations.

H_O Desk Lac

H_O Desk Lac

The H_O Lac (varnished) collection includes two desks with a very thick top. The top of the President and Executive desks is made of poplar plywood sandwiched between MDF boards. The one-piece, no joints top is varnished in glossy white NCS 1002-Y or glossy black 9000-N. Upon request, the desks can be supplied with the top varnished in the customer’s choice of colour.

In order to varnish the top with a glossy finish in the chosen colour, customers are requested to provide to Poltrona Frau an international colour code (RAL or NCS) or a colour sample on a physical substrate of at least 50×50 mm to allow proper scanning using suitable devices.

The desk mat is made of MDF board lined with Pelle Frau® leather from the Color System, matching the leather lined metal leg. The desk rests on the floor on feet made of plastic material. On the side opposite the leg, the desks feature a natural finish white travertine or slate column. The drawer unit can be placed on the right or the left of the user, always on the side of the column; the unit’s poplar plywood frame is covered with Louro Preto or Ash-tinted oak veneer. In the standard configuration, the drawer unit has a box drawer and a file drawer. An opening on the top, near the column, allows the passage of cables. H_O Lac desks can be accessorised with a courtesy panel lined with Pelle Frau® leather from the Color System.
